These two teams – and rightfully so – see themselves as the top two teams in the AL East, and possibly in all of baseball, regardless of what their Bronx neighbors have spent in the off-season. And as unfair as it may seem, Tampa is going to have to prove last year wasn’t a fluke in order to win the respect of gamblers…at least this gambler. Plus I’d take Lester over Kazmir any day for a big-game situation.

Cubs at Astros, Wednesday April 8: In this one, despite the dependable Moehler on the mound, the away team is going to be the favorite, probably by a sizable margin. There’s incredible (and probably unjustified) hype and buzz surrounding the Cubs this year. Harden this, Soriano that…blah, blah, blah. But until they self-destruct, you just can’t dismiss them. You might see a -120 line at sportsbook.com on the Cubs, but I’d be tempted to take the Astros here, especially if there’s a run line (like a spread) fewer than 2.5 runs. I knock the Cubs, but the truth is they’re going to be solid this year, with our without a Milton Bradley meltdown. Expect them to be the favorite in most of the games they play.

Mets at Reds, Wednesday April 8: Everyone and their mother seems to think the Reds are the dark horse this year, that a few sprinkles of well-planted talent will all sprout at the same time and keep them in the NL mix. I’m not buying it, not yet. The Mets have Perez going against the Reds Arroyo. If the don’t play like the playoff Mets of years’ past, they should be the NL favorite this year, at least on paper. I’m calling a -170 Mets against +125 Reds mlb odds money line and I’d take the Mets hands down. Even though the Cardinals roughed him up a little in spring training recently, he’ll come out firing and set a tone for the entire National League.

Arizona over Utah. This isn’t like nascar betting, Arizona probably shouldn’t even be in the tournament (apologies to St. Mary’s, Kentucky, others). They were really pushing on that bubble after the early loss in the Pac-10 tournament to Arizona State, but surprisingly most experts only pin them as a 10% underdog to Utah right now. I like Arizona’s game. Did respect for the Pac 10 help their tourney case? Possibly, but now that they’re in I think they’ll make the most of it.

Duke done by the sweet 16: Whomever it is they face, I don’t see Duke as an Elite-8 team this year. . Singler hasn’t proven that he’s strong enough down low, and if Henderson doesn’t have a good scoring game, they’re in real trouble.

Sienna over Louisville: My crazy prediction of the tournament. Sienna squeaks by Ohio State and then shocks the snooker betting world by advancing to the sweet 16. Sienna is the biggest mid-major threat in the country beside Butler, and are going to the sweet 16. Don’t be surprised, either, when they get national attention like Davidson did last year. You heard it here first.

In fact, as I’m looking through the bracket, I might end up picking more upsets than not in the first couple rounds, but that’s just how the talent of this year’s teams plays out. I still can’t pick a likely winner.

No. 11 seed VCU over No. 6 seed UCLA. This one’s in Philly on Thursday.

Maryland over Cal: Another little bubble team that could. Like Arizona, Maryland, a tourney powerhouse as recently as a few years ago, makes it in and takes on seven-seeded California. This one goes down in Kansas City.

Here’s another “upset” for you. Marquette handles Utah State. It’s an upset because I see a hell of a lot of people at the best online sportsbooks taking a chance on “shaking things up” in this spot and putting Utah State through. Wrong call. Marquette wins here, beats Missouri, and then…that might be it. But they’re not exiting in the first round.

And a couple more for first-rounders you to chew on. USC is going to beat Boston College, and Northern Iowa is going over Purdue.

So far the team has been playing fairly well and they still have a shot at making the playoffs. If they want to make the playoffs though, they are going to need to start next week with a win against the Giants. If they lose to the Giants then they are going to be in bad shape since they wouldn’t win the tiebreaker if it comes down to that. The Eagles should be heading into next weeks game ahead of the Giants in the division though. The Eagles lost their first of the season against the New Orleans Saints which is completely understandable, but the team’s second loss came against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders are one of the worst teams in the league and there is no way that the Eagles should have lost that game.

In every single online football betting game this season Philadelphia has scored more then 20 points except for the game against the Raiders where they lost 13-9. If they had scored 20 points like they had in any other game they would easily have won and been ahead of the Giants in the division. On a good note the Eagles offence has been putting up a lot of points in most of their games. Despite only scoring 9 points in one game they have a 27.2 points per game average which is good for 7th in the league. Philadelphia’s passing and rushing game has been good at times this season, but they haven’t been overly consistent. If you want to be a playoff team you’re going to need to put up more offence in my opinion.

Brian Westbrook has been held to under 200 yards on the season so far, but a bright spot has been LeSean McCoy who has gained a little over 200 yards. Six players on the Eagles have caught the ball over 10 times already with Brent Celek leading the way at 33 receptions. DeSean Jackson has been having a pretty good season, but he only has 21 catches and 3TD’s.

Philadelphia’s defence this season has been great like in previous seasons. The team is in the top 12 for all the major football odds stats including 12th in points given up, 9th in pass yards given up and 11th in rush yards given up per game. With the defence playing as good as they are it has helped the team win some games. The defence has also accounted for 12 INTS so far in only six games which is incredible.

OK folks, pay attention to this very important black jack strategy. The most common method of a “dealer tell” is when the dealer inadvertently reveals his or her hole card. There are a few different variations to this, and the key to interpreting the tell is paying close attention to how long the dealer glances at the hole card, while at the same time observing the angle in which he or she bends the card to clearly see it before pressing on with the play of the game.

If the dealer has a low card, such as a two through six, as an under card, you might find him lifting the card a tiny bit higher than typical to double check and make sure the card isn’t actually and Ace.
